Engineering support from an early idea to a manufacturable design.
Product design and development covers the work that happens before a part is ready to prototype or manufacture — turning a concept into a 3D CAD model that can be built, tested and refined. We work alongside engineers and product teams through this stage, rather than simply taking a finished file and printing it.
Whether a project starts as a sketch, a rough idea or an existing part that needs rework, we develop it into a 3D CAD model with the mechanical design considered from the outset — how the part will be loaded, how it interfaces with other components, and what it needs to do functionally.
A first CAD model is rarely the final one. We work through the geometry with manufacturability and performance in mind, refining features, wall sections and part structure so the design holds up both to its intended use and to the additive process that will eventually produce it.
Design decisions are tested through rapid prototyping rather than assumed. Producing a physical part lets us check fit, function and form against the original intent, and feed what we learn back into the CAD model before the next round.
Because the parts we develop are typically produced through additive manufacturing, we apply Design for Additive Manufacturing thinking throughout — considering orientation, supports and print behaviour as part of the design itself, rather than as an afterthought once a design is "finished."
Product development rarely moves in a straight line. We treat each design, prototype and revision as part of an ongoing cycle, so the final part reflects everything learned along the way rather than a single first pass.
Share your concept, sketch or existing CAD file and our team will help take it toward a manufacturable design.
